The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released a total of 1,897,692 results from the ongoing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The figures cover candidates who sat for the exam between April 16 and April 18 across the country.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board confirmed that 1,264,940 results from candidates who wrote the examination on Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, have been processed and made available.

This follows an earlier release of 632,752 results for candidates who sat the examination on Thursday, April 16, bringing the cumulative total to 1,897,692.

JAMB stated that the results released so far represent outcomes from the first three days of the nationwide exercise, which began last week across accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

Candidates were advised to check their results via the board’s official SMS channels by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration.

The examination body reiterated that this remains the only approved method for accessing results at this stage.

JAMB also confirmed that the UTME is still ongoing, with more than two million candidates expected to participate nationwide.

Results Released in Batches
The board explained that results are being processed and released in batches as the examination progresses, in line with its standard procedure.

It assured candidates that subsequent results will be published once processing is completed.

SMS Remains Official Channel
JAMB emphasised that candidates must use the same SIM card used during registration to access their results via SMS, warning against reliance on unofficial platforms.

The UTME remains Nigeria’s primary gateway to tertiary education. Timely and transparent release of results is critical for admission planning, institutional screening, and maintaining public confidence in the examination process.
