Colombian pop superstar Shakira has teamed up with Nigerian Grammy-winning artiste Burna Boy for a new official song ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The track, titled Dai Dai, was teased on Thursday through a short promotional video released on Shakira’s social media platforms and shared by the FIFA World Cup account.
Shakira Returns to the World Cup Stage
The 67-second clip was filmed at Maracanã Stadium, one of Brazil’s most iconic football venues, and featured Shakira performing excerpts of the song while holding the official 2026 World Cup match ball, known as the “Trionda.”
Dancers dressed in the colours of several national teams, including the United States and Colombia, also appeared in the energetic teaser.
The video concluded with the message: “We’re ready!”
The collaboration marks another major international milestone for Burna Boy, whose global influence has continued to grow across music and entertainment circles.
Official Release Set for May 14
According to the announcement, “Dai Dai” is scheduled for official release on May 14 ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament.
The collaboration has already generated excitement among football fans and music lovers worldwide, particularly due to Shakira’s long-standing connection with FIFA World Cup performances.
Shakira famously produced the 2010 World Cup anthem Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), which became one of the most successful football songs globally.

She also performed during the 2006 and 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.
Burna Boy’s Global Recognition Continues
For Burna Boy, the collaboration further cements his position as one of Africa’s leading global music exports.
The Nigerian superstar has continued to dominate international stages with collaborations involving major global artistes and appearances at prestigious sporting and entertainment events.
The partnership with Shakira is expected to introduce African sounds and influences to another worldwide football audience ahead of the 2026 tournament.
Maracana Appearance Comes After Massive Concert
The teaser was released days after Shakira performed at a free concert on Copacabana Beach, where reports indicated that more than two million fans attended the event.
The performance reinforced her enduring popularity in Latin America and across the global entertainment industry.
With anticipation building toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Shakira-Burna Boy collaboration is already positioning itself as one of the tournament’s major entertainment highlights, blending global pop energy with African musical influence.
