Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has dismissed the chances of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, describing the party as incapable of winning elections.

The governor also reaffirmed support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Governor Yusuf made the remarks while addressing supporters at the Government House in Kano following his return from the APC National Convention in Abuja and the party’s Northwest Zonal Congress in Kaduna.

He expressed confidence in securing re-election under the APC platform, citing ongoing efforts by his administration in key sectors.

According to him, opposition parties including the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) lack the structure and support base required to win elections in Kano State.

Yusuf stated that APC remains the dominant political force both in Kano and across Nigeria, urging residents not to be swayed by emerging opposition alliances.

The governor said his administration would intensify efforts in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and water supply if given another mandate.

Dismisses Opposition Strength

Governor Yusuf criticised the ADC and other opposition platforms, describing them as politically ineffective despite recent alignments.

He maintained that APC’s track record and national reach position it as the only viable party capable of delivering electoral victories.

Backs Tinubu’s 2027 Bid

The governor also pledged Kano State’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

He commended the President’s economic and infrastructural policies, noting that ongoing reforms are aimed at stabilising the economy and expanding development across geopolitical zones.

Yusuf said Kano residents remain aligned with the APC-led Federal Government and would support continuity at the national level.

The governor’s comments reflect early political positioning ahead of the 2027 elections. Public endorsements and dismissal of opposition parties signal intensifying competition and alliance-building in key political strongholds like Kano.
