“Major General Rabe Abubakar and his wife were abducted while travelling to Katsina. The attack happened along the Matazu axis. The driver escaped with a gunshot injury,” the source disclosed.
The driver’s survival is expected to provide investigators with crucial details regarding the circumstances surrounding the attack and the identity of the perpetrators.
Vehicle Recovered By Security Authorities
Security sources further revealed that the vehicle used by the retired military officer was later recovered and transported to the Matazu Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force.
The vehicle, identified as a red Peugeot 504 reportedly assigned to the retired general, may provide additional forensic evidence useful to ongoing investigations.
“The senior officer’s Peugeot 504 vehicle has been recovered and is currently at the Matazu Division of the Nigeria Police Force,” another source confirmed.
